Tips for the Sinnoh Battle Frontier
Having trouble with the Battle Frontier? Here are sone helpful tips.
Opponent Pokemon ussage:
- During the first 7 battles, opposing opponents will usually use small, fast Pokemon like Elakid or Pikachu
- Durring the next seven (8-14), they will usually use Pokemon with clever items, such as Swellow w/ Toxic Orb.
- During battles 15-21, the foe trainers will usually use Pokemon with clever combos, such as Kecleon with the move Trick and holding a Choice item.
Stratagies:
- Use Pokemon with High Speed such as Weavile and Yanmega
- Use Pokemon who can learn diverse movesets such as Salamence and Dragonite
- Use Pokemon with few weaknesses such as Spiritomb, Bronzong, Sableye, Regigigas, and normal types
- Use Pokemon who can inflict status conditions with abilities such as Poison Point or Cute Charm
- USE GOOD ITEMS! Use items that restore HP, boost stats in battle, and help moves.
Info:
- You can only use pokemon that are level 30 or higher.
- There are 17 Types that you have to defeat with one single pokemon species.
- During each round, you have to win 10 straight battles.
- The more consecutive wins you have, the more BP you will receive.
Stratagies:
- Cover your pokemon's weaknesses by having moves that are super against your pokemon that are super effective against you. Have a vast veriety of move types that can defeat many other types.
- Save the easy pokemon for last, go for the toughest type matchups first
- Again, USE GOOD ITEMS! Use items that restore HP, boost stats in battle, and help moves.
Castle Points:
- Save them for later! Do not use them in the first 14 battles unless your need is dire.
Point Gain:
~ For every pokemon in your party that hasn't fainted you get 3 CP.
~ For every pokemon in your party with full HP you will get 3 CP.
~ Every Pokemon in your party with more than half HP remaining will get you 2 CP.
~ Any Pokemon with less than half HP remaining will give you 1 CP.
~ Every team Pokemon without status ailments will give you 1 CP.
~ If you used under 5 PP total in the battle, you will give get 8 CP.
~ If you used under 10 PP total in battle, you will receive 6 CP.
~ If you gave any of the opponent's pokemon a +5 level raise, you will get 7 CP.
Spending CP:
~ HP Recovery with a Level 1 Rank: 10 CP
~ PP Recovery with a Level 2 Rank: 8 CP
~ Full Recovery with a Level 3 Rank: 12 CP
~ View Foe's Pokemon with a Level 1 Rank: 1 CP
~ Level up one of your opponent's Pokemon +5 with a Level 1 Rank: 1 CP
~ Levels down one of your opponent's Pokemon by 5 with a Level 1 Rank: 15 CP
Tips:
- Save CP
- Use moves with high accuracy and moves that do not miss
- Modify and use weather to your advantage with weather changing pokemon like Abomasnow or moves like hail and sandstorm.
- Bring types that cancel status ailments such as a steel type -immune to poison- or a fire type - can't get burned.
- Use a variety of types with diverse movesets.
- First round the staff member will tell you all your opponents pokemon
- Second round the staff member will tell you 2/3 of your opponents pokemon
- Third round and up the staff member will not tell you opponent's pokemon, but will tell you type majority.
- If you switch often in Open Level or Level 50, you will have the option to access stronger Pokemon by switching.
Tips:
- Use fast pokemon
- Use pokemon with few weaknesses such as Spiritomb, Bronzong, Sableye, Regigigas, and normal types
- Use offensive sweepers with a variety of movesets to quickly take out your foe
- use pokemon iwth alot of defence to back team up and last the battle
